First festival on mountaineering and climbing trip reports

Alpine Club of Iran is going to hold first festival on mountaineering and climbing trip reports to investigate and introduce new methods of presentation and documentation of trip reports on 19 and 20 January, 2004.
Those who are interested, are invited to send their logs in the form of photo essay, slide show or any other innovative presentation method to the festival's secretariat at the following address:

Iran elected Asian Alpine Association head

UAAA memorial photo President of Iran`s Mountaineering Federation (IMF) Sadeq Aqajani and the IMF public relations manager Homayoun Bakhtiari were elected as head and secretary general of the Union of Asian Alpine Association (UAAA).
During the general assembly in Laleh Hotel, central Tehran, the representatives of China, Nepal, and Japan were voted as the vice-chairmen and six from South Korea, Japan, Nepal, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and China were announced the union members.
22 representatives from 10 member countries of China, Taiwan, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, South Korea, Singapore, and Iran were participated in the assembly.

IMZ Holds a Mountain Photo Exhibition

Iran Mountain Zone holds a mountain photo exhibition on November 29 – December 4, 2003 to celebrate International Mountain Day.
In this exhibition, which is hold in the first anniversary of Iran Mountain Zone presence on the web, the photos of few mountain photographers will be shown in the Iranian Artist’s Forum in Tehran.
Mountain Landscapes and Mountain Sport Activities are two categories of exhibition that is open to public at the Iranian Artist’s Forum in Tehran since November 30 from 10:00 am to 20:00 pm.
At the same time, a mountain photography session will be hold in Iranian Artist’s Forum’s amphitheater on December 2 at 16:00. In this session, which is open to public, there would be a slide show of Iran Mountains and Mountain Sport Activities too.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition will inaugurate on November 29 at 17:00.

Nature Photo Exhibition

KNT university mountaineering group is going to hold a nature photo exhibition on November 29 - December 3, 2003.
In this exhibition, photos of Arash Karimi are shown at the amphitheater of science department of KNT university in Tehran.
Exhibition goes on from 10:00 to 16:00 and is open to public.

UAAA General Assembly in Tehran

Union of Asian Alpine Association (UAAA) general assembly will be hold in Tehran on November 28 and 29, 2003.
Iran Mountaineering Federation has announced that nine member countries including Pakistan, Nepal, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, China and Iran will participate in the gathering.
The gathering will be inaugurated in Laleh International Hotel in Tehran on November 28.

UIAA published the list of 1st ascents in 2001

Joss Lynam, the former President of the Expedition Commission, has completed the mamouth task of coalating the list of first ascents in the greater ranges for 2001.
The list can be downloaded from the Expedition Commission page at UIAA website under the following address:

It is worth mentioning that a new route on the north wall of Alamkuh (4850 m) in Iran has registered in the list.
