First festival of mountaineering accounts will be held at the
auditorium of NOCIR in Tehran on May 27 and 28.
According to public relation staff of Alpine club of Iran, 23 accounts out of
about 100 ones, which had been sent to festival's secretariat, will be presented
during May 27 and 28.
This festival, which is open to public, will be started on May 27 at 2 pm.

Spring climbing cup, a climbing competition in the anniversary of
successful ascent of 1998 Iranian expedition to mount Everest, held
in Band-e-Yakhchal bouldering resort on Friday May 7. There were
40 climbers who participated in the competition, where Amin Abbasi
won the first prize of $600. Mohammad Jafari and Hassan Javadian
stood afterward.

Iran Mountaineering Federation (IMF) is going to hold a climbing
competition in the anniversary of successful ascent of Iranian to mount
Everest in 1998. This competition will be hold in one of the bouldering
resorts near Tehran on Friday May 7, 2004.
It is an open competition and the winner will be paid a prize of
$600.

First festival of mountaineering trip reports will be held on May
26 and 27. Announcing the above news, public affairs of Alpine club
of Iran as the organizer of this festival has mentioned, they hoped
that it would hold in February 2004. But the festival’s secretariat
decided to postpone the event to gather more reports on climbing
adventures as well as environmental protection activities in Iran’s
mountainous areas.
The festival’s secretariat has announced that the best presentations
and first ascents will be awarded.
