Alpine club of Iran and Ararat Club celebrated IMD

Alpine Club of Iran and Ararat Club in a joint program celebrated International Mountain Day in the 60th anniversary of Ararat Club establishment in the auditorium of Ararat club in Tehran.
Mehdi Kamyab from UNDP Iran, Dr SamarBakhsh from regional office of UNESCO in Tehran and Abbas Mohammadi administrative member of Alpine Club of Iran presented three short talks about mountains and sustainable development in mountainous regions in this meeting, which held on December 11 evening.
A brief history of mountaineering activity of Armenians and their role in the mountaineering history of Iran was described then and a few of Armenian veterans were appreciated.
United Nation general assembly has declared 11 December as International Mountain Day.

An Slide Show

Arash Karimi will show up some fantastic shots from Tanzania and mount Kilimanjaro which has been taken during national team of Iranian Students Expedition to Kilimanjaro, 2004.
Show will be open to public and will be start at 16:00 on wednesday December 15, at the Auditorium of Electrical Engineering department of KNT University in Tehran.

The new vice president for IMF

By resignation of Ahmad ShirMohammad former vice president of Iran Mountaineering Federation, Sadegh Aghajani head of IMF appointed Mahmoud Nouri as the new vice president of IMF on December 7, according to IMF public relation.
Mahmoud Nouri has been director general of Physical Training organization in Gilan and Ardebil provinces during last few years.
It's worth mentioning that Ahmad ShirMohammad was IMF's vice president for three years.

IMF Mount Everest women expedition 2005

In a countrywide announcement, Iran Mountaineering Federation has invited all interested women mountaineers to participate in the preparatory tests to select women national team for IMF Mount Everest Expedition 2005. Iranian Mountaineers in Everest According to this announcement, the first test would be hold in Alamkuh area in Alborz range from December 15 to December 17, 2004.
“National team of Iranian Men’s mountaineers will accompany this expedition too” said Sadegh Aghajani head of IMF in an official meeting in Tehran on December 7.
It was the first Iranian women expedition whose plan for pushing first muslim woman to top of the world canceled in last days before leaving Tehran in 2003.
This would be the first 8000-er try for national team of Iranian women mountaineers where this team has summated few 6000-er and 7000-er in Himalaya during last few years.
It’s worth mentioning that 4 members of Iranian 1998 Expedition summated Mount Everest as the first Iranians in May 98.

Alpine Club of Iran offers a Rescue course

Alpine club of Iran holds a mountain rescue course which is offered by Majid Sabetzade, an instructor and rescuer of Yosemite national park in December 2004, said Kyoumars Babazade head of Managerial board of Alpine club of Iran.
All participants will take part in a 2-day theoretical class as well as a 2-day workshop in mountainside. This course will be offered in Tehran and Tonekabon and probably in Kashan, he said.

Three Candidates for IMF's presidential post

Up to November 6, three people nominated for Iran Mountaineering Federation’s presidential election, according to IMF public relation.
Sadegh Aghajani (president of IMF) as well as Ahmad Nateq Noori and Sayed Ehsan-al-deen Mansouri have signed up before nomination’s deadline.
It’s worth mentioning that IMF’s presidential election will be hold during annual general meeting of IMF on December 22.

Peak Lenin in Seven Days

An Iranian alpinist, Hussain Nazar, summitted peak Lenin (7134 m) in Pamir in an independent try. Nazar did it in 7 days in alpine style while it takes more in normal ascend.
He will present his trip report in the monthly meeting of Alpine club of Iran. It will be hold in Daneshjoo culture house in Tehran on October 27 at 17:00.
