2003 - Gasherbrum 1 (8064 m) Oraz and another of his colleagues Moqbel Honarpajouh were at the altitude of 7,900 meters, only 164 meters away from the 8,064-meter Gasherbrum-1 peak when an avalanche hit them.The avalanche brought them 600 meters down.Oraz received serious injuries and was shifted to Islamabad. He died in a hospital in Islamabad after one month of unconsciousness. Moqbel Honarpajouh, 19, received minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital one week later after medical treatment.
